Having left Antonito, we slowly climb in elevation. Here on, relatively flat mesa, we encounter the first, of several, water towers, (This is, Lava Tank), we will pass during the trip to Chama, New Mexico.

Climbing, ever upward, we reach areas of sediment rock and out croppings. The plant life is very interesting and  it's amazing how plants and trees seem to sprout up out of rock.
